Lean Kangaroo steak sandwhich

There's nothing better than homemade steak sandwhiches and chips. Try this simple recipe to make yours even healthier.



Serves: 4
Cooking time: 25 minutes


Ingredients:
400g Oven baked frozen chips*
2 Turkish Rolls, halved lengthways*
olive oil cooking spray*
4 x 150g lean Kangaroo fillets or steaks*
2 teaspoons barbecue seasoning
80g mixed salad leaves
2 medium tomatoes, sliced
4 slices Reduced fat Cheddar Cheese slices, halved diagonally*
Salt reduced tomato sauce, to serve*

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 220°C fan-forced. Place chips on an oven tray. Bake following packet directions.
2. Meanwhile, heat a chargrill pan over medium-high heat. Spray cut sides of bread with oil. Cook bread, for 2 to 3 minutes each side or until golden. Place bread on a plate and cover to keep warm.
3. Using a meat mallet, pound steaks, 1 at a time, until 5mm thick. Sprinkle steaks with seasoning. Season steaks with pepper. Heat chargrill pan over high heat. Cook steaks, for 1 to 2 minutes each side for medium or until cooked to your liking.
4. Top roll bases with salad leaves, tomato, cheese, steak, sauce and bread tops. Cut each roll in half. Serve with chips.
